Cutting Board Care

Your New Cutting Board

Thank you for purchasing a High Quality Cutting Board or butcher block. All of our cutting boards are made from Canadian Hard Maple and accented with Purple Heart, Cherry or Walnut. Our products are all handmade and have a lifetime warrantee against workmanship and defects.

Caring for your new cutting board is easy if you follow these simple rules:

DO NOT put your wood cutting board into the dishwasher; it must be hand washed. Scrub the board with soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. Also, be sure to oil your board regularly with mineral oil. This will keep moisture out of the cutting board, preventing cracking and warping. Never leave your cutting board soaking in water as this will damage it and cause it to warp or split. To remove food smells or spot-clean stains from your cutting board use white vinegar or lemon juice. Harsher methods of disinfection, such as bleach and water, may be necessary from time to time but always remember to dry and re-oil your board after a vigorous cleaning. Never scrub your cutting board with a steel brush, instead use a spatula, dishrag or scraper to remove moisture and stubborn food particles. Lastly, you should store your new cutting board somewhere so it can stay clean and dry for you to enjoy many years of chopping.

Your New Wooden Cooking Utensils

Wooden Cooking Utensils are no different than your cutting boards. Remember to never leave your utensils soaking in water or in the sink. This will damage them and cause them to split and warp. Rinse off stuck on food right away and dry to avoid intense scrubbing. Use a sponge or dish rag to clean your cooking tools, never steel wool. Wooden Cooking Utensils must be re-oiled often to keep them waterproof and looking fresh.
